“Too long without breaks on the coach. Air con was not turned on properly to save money. The guide was excellent but the tour didn’t work. We expected time at the Danube bend, a church that wasn’t 3/4 covered in scaffolding more than a quick drive around the roundabout in Slovenia and more than 40mins in the artists village before being time pressured to take the final boat back . It was advertised that we would have a choice to shop but we were not asked what we would like to do. I had to ask if I could quickly nip into a shop but felt rushed. Lunch was included however we were taken to a Hungarian restaurant which given we were staying in Budapest we were already familiar with Hungarian cuisine. “The tour was enjoyable and our guide Martha was very knowledgeable about history and the region. However, our tour was on a Monday and many places we could have visited were closed and one site was closed due to a conference. The tour company should not offer this tour on Mondays.”

“We were picked up at our hotel by Atilla, the tour director, who took us to the private apartment of a young English-speaking Hungarian couple, both architects. We had a fascinating evening. Dinner was a "grandmother's recipe" and delicious. The couple was charming and gave us a real education on what it means to be young in Hungary today. Very informative and fun. These were real folks who let us into their homes and lives. Not to be missed.”

There were 11 of us on the tour and she managed to become friends with all of us.
